Althaea Officinalis, or Common Marshmallow, is the main skin-healing ingredient in the Althaea line of Olive Oil Castile Soaps. Marshmallow Root is skin-soothing and draws moisture into the skin, making it a wonderful healing herb that softens and reduces inflammation from a wide variety of skin conditions, including severe dryness, eczema, psoriasis and allergic skin reactions. It also has the wonderful effect of producing a soap which leaves a smooth, emollient slip upon the skin, rather than a thick, skin-stripping lather.

Marshmallow root allows our line of Olive Oil Castile soaps to rinse away cleanly and easily while leaving behind calm, soft, extraordinarily well-hydrated skin.
